Seasoned journalist, Andrew Mwenda is finally off the hook after Sheebah Karungi recorded a statement with Directorate of Criminal Investigations (CID).

On May 9, Sheebah took to social media and revealed a top government official hired for performance and illegally tampered with her engine as she waited in the car to hit the stage.

Netizens started speculating. Bad Black said the top official in question was Gilbert Bukenya while another person named Mwenda. He claimed Mwenda made an illegal move during Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s birthday celebrations at Cricket Oval – Lugogo.

Mwenda went public and denied the allegations saying he doesn’t know Sheebah and has never met her nor listened to her songs. He challenged Sheebah to tell the truth because netizens had started accusing Muhoozi’s camp of eating with force.

Following two weeks of speculation, today the Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga revealed that Sheebah finally recorded a statement with CID and Mwenda is not the person who illegally tampered with her warm engine.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has instituted inquiries into the alleged incident of indecent assault against, Sheeba Karungi, a popular music artist, after she formally made her complaint at CID headquarters today 17.05.2022.

During the interaction with the CID officers, Sheeba revealed the details and the individual who was involved and the related circumstances.

In her complaint she clearly mentions the suspect and refutes the ongoing speculation in sections of the media that it was Andrew Mwenda.

In view of the above, a team of Detectives has commenced investigations on the matter to ensure justice for the victim.
