South Sudan 0-1 Malawi

Uganda Cranes and Burkina Faso Les Étalons (The Stallions) match have ended in goalless draw this evening at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

Uganda Cranes went into the match looking for three points to avoid the last minute panic but ‘The Stallions’ of Burkinabe were happy to pick a point since they will be playing a weak side, South Sudan in their last Group B match.

Uganda Cranes started the match timid with Burkina Faso controlling the first half.

At the break, Abdallah Mubiru made a double substitution with Mike Azira and Adbul Lumala making way for Ibrahim Orit and Moses Waiswa.

The Cranes started placing and registered shots on target with Farouk Miya and Joseph Ochaya testing Herve Koffi.

Vipers SC forward, Ibrahim Orit came close to giving the Cranes victory but was denied by the wood work.

A goalless draw means Burkina Faso are still on top of Group B with 9 points, Uganda in second on 8 points, followed by Malawi on 7 and South Sudan at the bottom with 3 points.

Uganda will fly to Malawi on March 28th aboard chartered Uganda Arlines and must at least pick a draw to qualify for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations that will take place in Cameroon.

Burkina Faso will also be hosting South Sudan on the same day. Both last group Group B matches will be played at on March 329 at 7pm EAT.

The two top teams from each group will automatically qualify for finals in Cameroon.
